Rockville, Virginia (August 23, 2021) – Billion Strong, a Global Nonprofit Organization, is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Nabil Eid as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

Mr. Nabil Eid is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, and influencer in the community of people with disabilities (PwDs). His experience as a specialist in ICT Accessibility and Disability Inclusion in International Development Strategies offers value to PwDs by reducing barriers, changing perceptions, and increasing participation by supporting the community.

In addition to his role as CSO of Billion Strong, Nabil serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Ruh Global IMPACT. Both positions focus on strategy and services, and he’ll continue working with a wide range of partners, helping them develop policies and solutions to meet the needs and empower disability pride, identity, inclusion, and diversity.

According to Debra Ruh, CEO and Founder of Ruh Global Impact and Executive Chair of Billion Strong, “Nabil is one of the smartest people I know and certainly one of the hardest workers. And he does all these amazing things working remotely from Syria, which is in a horrible state of crisis. They are walking a difficult path, but he continues to fight for the rights of PwDs. I’m inspired by his passion and grateful to work beside him, not only as my CIO but in his new role as CSO for Billion Strong.”

Previously, Nabil has held several positions and worked with numerous NGOs, civil society networks, UN agencies, governments, private sector, and grassroots organizations to successfully create positive change at global, regional, and national levels. With 25+ years of experience in disability inclusion strategies, he has developed ICT4D strategies in marginalized communities and authored 7 books about disability inclusion and ICT accessibility.

Nabil stands with people with disabilities in disadvantaged communities, refugees with disabilities in the camps, and host communities in crisis areas worldwide to find the community’s voice. He strongly believes in investing in PwDs to make the world a better and more inclusive place to live.
