According to Rosemary Musachio, Chief Accessibility Officer for Ruh Global IMPACT and Director of Global Outreach for Billion Strong, “The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed 31 years ago, yet many businesses and other public entities still do not understand what accessibility really means to the 61 million Americans with disabilities.”
Rosemary highlights a few large corporations within the United States that have made a concerted effort when it comes to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion for people with disabilities. They are leading the way to a better world by providing PwDs the opportunities, technology, and support they need to succeed. This, in turn, helps the corporations as well. However, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
